The sport of agility is growing by 'leaps' and 'bounds'. It is truly a sport where handler and dog create unity as a working team. The dog is directed through a series of obstacles in a predetermined order using hand signals and verbal commands. This is a timed event and points are deducted for not maneuvering through the course accurately. Agility is a thrilling and exhilarating sport for both spectators and exhibitors as these dogs "race" from start to finish. Children especially have a wonderful time, as it teaches them responsibility while building their self confidence. Agility is open to all breeds over the age of 12 months. It is great exercise not only for the handlers but for the dogs as well. The photos below show a few of the obstacles required on an agility course, as you can see, small dogs as well as large can play the game. Enjoy
